Things have gone very quiet all of a sudden, what gives, I mean I know there isn’t really much to talk about, but even the private email has gone dead. Kind of reminds me of the old days when a Russian premier died and the Russian radio stations all played somber music for a couple of days before official word came that the Leader was dead. Also similar to the way terror cells go quiet just before an attack; if I were the inferring type this silence would lead me to believe that something is up.

Unfortunately I predict an FCAT blunder in your future, as your reading skills are lacking. I never said I had any news, I explained in my post that the lack of talk alludes to the fact that something big is going on behind closed doors and that we might soon get some big news.
While you were correct in that I don’t have any news to report, you stumbled upon that fact erroneously as your feeble skills of inference lead you to an accurate conclusion, all be it through your faulty inference.

I say the palmetto middle 135 Iglesias can compete with any top level high schooler right now. This kid is gonna be a monster, trust me. Whichever high school gets him is gonna have a real stud.

Yeah he pounded some middle school kids last year, BUT TOP LEVEL HIGH SCHOOLERS? DO YOU MEAN TOP LEVEL HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER OR TENNIS PLAYERS? I agree - he is an exceptional middle school wrestler and I am sure he does great at the MMA school and pounds on some of the Palmetto High school kids, but he couldn't make States this year at ANY weight class. Let him grow, win another middle school title and he'll have his shots next year.

As a matter of fact, before I revived the Blog from its summer hibernation, I went back and read many of my old posts just to see what had been said the past year. It was very enjoyable as I got to relive many of the funny as well as poignant moments of last season.

Wrong Mr. Anonymous, I am in no way associated with palmetto wrestling. Sonny Gulesian should stay away from Iglesias if he wants to be county champion. Iglesias will tech him . I actually hope he does venture to 135 so I can watch an old fashioned whoopin. Maybe Gulesian can compete with Iglesias, that's why they call it a match. There is only one way to find out. I say Gulesian needs to bump up to 135 so we can put the chatter to rest.
As for you Mr. anonymous. I still say he can compete with the high schoolers. I am not backing off that statement at all. That's why I don't think Gulesian would be much of a match.

Quite an amusing quandary has been presented to us by SMS, the Hialeah guy with the large gonads and the multiple personality anonymouses. Hall came out of middle school quite prepared to take his 103 lb crown. Why exactly then can’t Iglesias “compete with any top level high schooler?” Whom exactly might he bump from Regionals on his way to the State Tournament? Isn’t Ozzie doing as good a job in preparing his son as did Dewberry? Hmmm… Shouldn’t we be focused on the upcoming HIGH SCHOOL SEASON instead of what is happening with middle school wrestling which doesn’t take place until March or something… or is Iglesias the next Chandler or Tico?

I will disagree with you publicly for the first time.
Not only do I not think Noffo can make 112, I believe if he sucks down that hard he will run out of juice and be defeated when it counts most. I believe his safest drop would be to 119, where he will be defeated by either chandler brother (which evers turn it is to make the drop).
It is a long season. I believe the scenario you present would be correct if things work out that way. Hialeah or SW can sneak in at 112. Olivera, Harris? All of the aforementioned wrestlers will have trouble making 112. That being the case 119 could be really loaded.

Noffo weighs 130 if he weighs a pound. He was weighing 125 by the time Junior High Counties rolled around and he was wearing his Columbus shirt. I will stick to my guns and predict that if he crashes to 112, he will crash at 112 and get beat. His best be is to run the other way, he can't beat either Chandler so 130 seems as good a weight as any, a big strong Noffo with the wrestling he knows could do some damage, a weak cut down Noffo will seek who he can blame this year for the coming collapse.
Noffo will be 119lbs this year. He could make 112lbs but then the kid with the MILF would get knocked out of the line up and then Husk would probaby get cut off if you know what I'm saying wink wink!!

Noffo will make Columbus a better team, but Columbus will not make Noffo a better wrestler, or put him in any better position to win a title.
He may in fact complete his career without the title that so many of you 2 years ago thought was his destiny and a forgone conclusion.
He should have gone to south dade. While noffo was winning and placing in national tournaments villanueva was probably picking fields yet he is the one in the state finals go figure. Should'of would'of, could'of....if Noffo went to South Dade he would have already been a state champ but now he will probably never be one.

Spiderman when did you see him weigh-in I know he doesn't weigh in the 130s. He can make 112, but the real question is will they let him.
He is wrestling 112 scratch at Super 32. That is Nov 1 if he weighs it then why would he not be able to wrestle this season?

I have not seen him weigh-in, my comments are based on my powers of observation.
He very well may be cut down to 119 or so already, and no doubt he may try to make 112 at the super 32; however, we shall see how the drop affects his performance, then you can talk.

I believe Guzman will be at 119 or 125 my sources tell me. Also, I guess Noffo will be beating everyone who has not qualified to states since he did. Guys who quailifiy to states never loose to anyone who has not.

Anonymous, thank you for defending Guzman but, please don't. Anonymous is right, who is Guzman? Guzman has never been to the state tournament, except as a spectator.
Kevin Guzman is a respectful and positive role model that stands for everything good in our sport. His academics are stellar and his dedication is unquestioned by those that know him.
He was one match from going to the state tournament two years ago and fractured his elbow vs. Eric Chandler last year, preventing him from competing for a qualifying position in last year's Regionals. None of this means much, except for the fact that he has fallen a few times and continues to get up.
It's not where you start that matters, it's where you finish.

It is about priorities and what will set him up best for his future. He also matriculated the IB at Coral Reef, but IMHO, MAST was the better education across the board.
