Censorship

While I hate censorship and I am loath to censor what anyone might say, we are starting to have too much vulgarity on the site. Please be careful with your words, because I will be forced to remove some of the more distasteful stuff. I'm not talking about minor colorful words used for effect, but certainly the more vulgar and malicious comments will have to go. Control yourself so I don’t have to, there are many ways to say something and have the desired effect without using vulgarities.

The bitter feelings that are shared between the older Noffo and the wrestling community have now filtered down to young Noffo. I have had the privilege of speaking to the younger of the Noffo’s and found him to be a polite and respectful individual. His demeanor after some of the matches against Hall simply stems from his overwhelming desire to win and succeed at this sport. It is human nature to want to look for some reason to blame for one’s failure and that is all young Noffo has demonstrated after some of the matches. Please consider his age and how that may affect his actions. Some would call them follies of youth.

I point this out because the constant attacks and counter attacks by some people on this board have turned this young kid into a rallying point for Columbus’s recruiting. This kid is doing nothing but trying to better himself in any way that he can. He believes that by going to Columbus he will in fact reach a higher level in his wrestling prowess than what he was able to at Coral Reef.

Although I do believe that his father has much to do with his transfer, I also believe that the betterment of Noffo is truly the ultimate driving force behind these events. The question as to whether Columbus recruits is not what we have come down to debating nor discussing, we have now gone to the extreme of demeaning the accomplishments as well as this kids desire to win and succeed. Which one of us as a parent would not traverse the very oceans of hell to give our young child a chance at accomplishing his dreams?

I am asking that the discussion and arguments of the veracity of the recruiting allegations towards Columbus continue but the mention of the older Noffo cease. I am simply requesting this because nobody will be able to differentiate between Matt Noffo and his father or any arguments about Columbus. Matt Noffo is a great kid who should be allowed to continue his quest without carrying any baggage or garbage around like an albatross around his neck. Thank you for your understanding.

Anonymous,

Ironically I agree with everything you said about Noffo. In fact I have stated much of what you said myslef. It is unfortuantet that many times the sons pay for the sins of their fathers, and that is just part of life.

Believe it or not I root for the kid; in Lakeland I rooted for him in every match, even against Hall I was torn between the two, and thought it would be nice to see him wrestle well and beat Hall this time around. Though as the match went on and his defensive demeanor hurt his cause, I saw that Hall was better suited for this purpose.

I later found myself rooting for him again, though it was harder to remain objective after witnessing the father spread his vile towards Hall.

In any case, I have said it before and I will say it again, young Noffo showed nothing but class and Sportsmanship in his matches, which is not only surprising but refreshing when you consider the example being set by his father.

I feel little Noffo is a good wrestler and may benefit from going to a good program like Columbus with good practice partners.

Even though it is evident that Columbus has recruited in the past, I don't feel Noffo was recruited. It is just a case of a kid wanting to get better and being that Columbus is a private school, it was a choice which would avoid all the BS involved in transfering from one public school to another.

Columbus also inherits another over the top parent along with some of the ones they already have. Maybe coach Husk can conduct some type of "TEAM PARENT ETTIQUETTE SEMINAR" prior to the start of the season before it get really out of control.

It appears your request will not be granted arachnid. It would serve you well to censor some words and not the whole statement. I am quite sure your abilities will allow for such changes. In that manner you may both keep your word on censorship and allow subhumans their say.

Anonymous,

I wish I could do that, but this service does not allow for that type of editing. As a matter of fact, one can not even edit ones own comments once it is posted. the only ting one can do is delete and re-post. I hate censoring, but when there is no other alternative what else can I do. Just know that I will not censor any opinion, but I must censor the language.

"I must censor the language."

Why are little kids on this blog we can handle the words.

Anonymous said...

It is not a matter of kids but rather a matter of class and etiquette. It is believed that we are all adults and professionals so our language should be more evolved and less profane. If you insist on posting vulgarities for simplistic reasons then it should be censored lest this become a haven for the uncouth and derelict. If the metaphors are used to enhance an opinion as with an adverb then censorship is unwarranted. Please understand that ungentlemanly language used by feeble minds does little to impress a point or even sway a reader.

Moonie,

Great example I guess, but now I have to remove your post, some of those words are too apparent. Or will you please doit and leave blanks instead.

Joker,

Your name suits you well, you are one funny dude.

Spiderman,

Consider it done. Is this more to your liking or should I also remove the other example? Please let me know.

Joker,

I think he means we can't just say things like, "F_#$ this sh!$. You a P@#$% @#$ le$#$%". Now if you wanted to say something like, "those a$$hole$ who recruit are being b!tches about their cheatin a$$", now that would be more acceptable. At least that is what I understand. I also agree with the statement made by anonymous. Use bad words only if it helps to vent or express your opinion.
