New Poll (Registered Member Only Please)

I will start a new poll on team and individual rankings, but it will only be open to registered voters. The reason I can only tabulate registered voters is so that voters may only cast one ballot. If I were to allow anonymous voters then the box could be stuffed and I won't have that.

Here is how it will work.

The voters compile a list of Teams from 1 to 10 with 1 obviously being the highest rank, the voters will then do the same for the individuals in their respective weight class but individuals will only be ranked 1 to 5. I will compile the rankings every Monday and post the consensus. The rankings will be featured on the right side of the blog as a permanent section week to week, the first edition will be out next Monday.

So get your list ready and start posting which teams and individuals you feel are tops in Dade County.

P.S. If you prefer to vote privatly for fear that someone might know your alias but do not wish to be excluded, you can send me your votes privately at the FKN private box under the name "iamspiderman" or you can email it to me at Spiderman_fkn_wrestling@yahoo.com.

2. American : I know that South Dade is the best team out there but I think American will keep it closer than what people think.

3. Columbus : They have their studs in the middle but I suspect that they are expecting way too much out of their young lightweights.

4. Braddock : They will rely heavily on their twins and Pineyro. They will score some points here and there in other weight classes and that will be just enough to keep others away from their 4th place.

5. Southwest : They will rely on their twins and Olivera. They will also score points here and there and might make it intersting with Braddock.

As far as I am concerned there are three different tournaments going on at the same time.

South Dade vs American

Columbus vs American

Braddock vs Southwest

call me crazy but I have been looking at the tournaments during the off season and American is better than what people think. They have solid wrestlers at every weight class. I don't think they will beat South Dade but they will make it interesting.

Spidey,
Gabe Chandler should be the one that is ranked at 119 not Eric.

103
1. Earl Hall (SD) no exceptions or probabilities. Done deal.
2. Kevin Guzman (MH) if he doesn’t drop down to 103 he will never have qualified to the state tournament.
3. James December (NMB) better than what people know.
4. Josh Turner (HML) he will beat Gulesian just because he is older and bigger.

112
1. Quintavian Mcpherson (SD) clearly the best at this weight. Too big and strong.
2. Armani Harris (AM) expect him here at the end of the season. Osorio has a tendency to drop all his kids at the end.
3. Matt Noffo (COL) he might just decide not to finish the season ala Olivera last year. No chance to win so why drop weight and suffer.
4. Francisco Betancourt (MH) nobody thinks he is there but look out for this one. A real shocker at the end.

119
1. Gabriel Chandler (BRA) this is his weight class and he will dominate.
2. Mathew Barrera (MS) this is his year to qualify and he knows it.
3. Juan Berrios (PAL) big strong kid and he will frustrate weaker kids in this weight.
4. Andres Montero (SD) or Julio Ore (AM). The winner goes to state.

125
1. Eric Chandler (BRA) back to his style of wrestling and back to dominating the competition. His coaches suffered the embarrassment of trying to change his style last year and paid for it.
2. George Gulisien (COL) the only one that can compete with Chandler and maybe even be stronger than him. Eric is just on a mission to regain HIS title.
3. Alvin Lazo (HOM) with him being the last kid there he should get extra coaching and will make it count.
4. Richard Martinez (SUN) Moises is a great coach and an even greater lightweights coach. He will make miracles here.

I will have more after I have done more research.

Anonymous said...

someones doint their homework.

Anonymous said...

There will be no shocker with Francisco Betancourt. He is a not wrestling for Miami High any longer. Do you think his coach will tell you he is not wrestling and then all of a sudden he is.

Is District 15 the toughest this year?

1. Jake Rio (COL) father Rio will finally get what he wants, a champion son out of Jake.
2. Robert Rojas (SD) state placer and a lifelong wrestler. Under Balmacida he will blossom even more.
3. Chris Perez (AM) strong kid who will make noise this year. Brother of American’s big gun last year.
4. Robert Ruiz (HML) a lot is expected of the HML kids this year. It is a senior team and maybe Turner’s last season.

135
1. Wilson Metellus (SD) once again the untouchable force in this weight. Everyone else is fighting for second place.
2. Oxsumm Ramirez (SW) he will make the effort to get down here because of what he can accomplish.
3. Leo Santibanez (AME) state qualifier last year and can only get better with coaching from the American coaching.
4. Luis Nodar(COL) he will get his wish and not have to cut weight. Healthy he might just make more noise than 4th.

140
1. Ray Parrado (GOL) state champion and nobody will get him off there this year.
2. Oxum Ramirez (SW) three times the bridesmaid.
3. Randy Pineyro (BRA) he will help Braddock as a team and will qualify in this weight class.
4. Ricky Hidalgo (COL) or Mike Lovette (HOM) winner goes to state.

145
1. Kendrick Sanders (SD) once again everyone else is fighting for second.
2. William Bell (SR) tough, strong, and the only real weapon of a fallen franchise.
3. Alec Dias (HML) his toughness and constant attacks will frustrate and annoy opponents and will give him a shot at qualifying.
4. Alex Lopez (MH) call me a secret admirer of Miami High but I think this kid will surprise.

152
1. Luis Montalvo (SD) hey what can you say, they got it and they don’t want to give it back.
2. Allen Pena (COL) maybe a stretch but it is about time he backs up his swagger.
3. Abraham Vidal (GOL) his workout partner is a state champion. He will stay here to get a shot at winning the region by staying away from Kendrick.
4. Tavares White (MS) not sure why but he is the only one that comes to mind. Stop laughing he is ranked you know.

160
1. Antonio Starr (HML) Turner finally gets back to the Regional finals.
2. Julian Eddie (SD) come on people he didn’t transfer for nothing. Victor will make something out of him.
3. Giovanni GIraldo (SUN) once again he is a senior and I just can’t think of anyone else.
4. Tramone Williams (SR) he is ranked but I know little of him. Maybe someone can shed some light but I just don’t see anyone else here.

1. Brett Phillips (PAL) tough kid and a return for Palmetto to the finals.
2. Kevin Alzate (VAR) give this school credit they are trying to get better.
3. Shawn King (SD) returning and serious this year.
4. (AM) don’t know the kids name but he is tough

189
1. David Castillo (AME) he is dropping and he is a state qualifiers.
2. Travus Webster (SD) big, tough, strong, and very agile. He will score major point for south Dade.
3. Johnny Thompson (MH) once again I just have this feeling that they will come thru this year.
4. Adrian Blue (PAL) senior and has been at it for a couple of years. Very well coached.

215
1. Willie Wiggins (SD) nobody comes close to him. Why do you think American dropped their kid.
2. Daniel Clavijo (HIA) did you see him last year? No? You will get an eye full this year. Ponce will make this kid challenge Willie.
3. Emilious Davis (SM) this kid will be a wrecking ball for Pardo at the end of the season. He has nobody else to work with.
4. James laguere (KROP) about time this school has a kid place.

285
1. Henry Chirino (AM) in case you haven’t noticed, American will score all of their major points in the heavies. This is one tough heavy and he will shock people.
2. Alex Wethy (COL) he is big and will just smother the other smaller wrestlers.
3. Justin McCray (SR) I would put him higher than COL but I haven’t seen him this year.
4. Bernard Barnes (CC) or Todd Chandler (NW) whoever is still wrestling. Two huge studs who will need a little coaching and then allow their abilities to come thru.

One more time, I will not be accepting anonymous votes for the consensus.

You may either vote publicly with a registered alias, or you may send me your votes privately at either my box on FKu (iampsiderman) or at Spiderman_fkn_wrestling@yahoo.com

I have already received a few private ballots and those will count; but again, I will not count anonymous submissions.

This does not mean you can't cast an anonymous ballot, you certainly can, feel free, it just will not be part of the official results.

Hey spideysorio, how old is your 285? Isn't he like, going to be 18 at states this year as a Junior?

Spiderman said...

Anonymous,

My 285 is 29 years old, He came from Cuba during Freedom flotilla of the Balseros in 1993. Unfortunately for him (but fortunate for us) he had a glandular disorder which stunted his growth and though he was 14 years old at the time because he did not have a birth certificate and because of his size they put him as a 4 year old. Unbelievably, not one of the border patrol agents realized that he already had a mustache. Anyway, just a week or so later while rummaging in the saw grass on the edge of the recreation area at the Chrome detention center he was bitten by a Mercury laden sand flea which poisoned his blood and he came very near death. The Doctors used an infusion of a charcoal based neutralizing agent that saved his life and also had the effect of activating his glandular problem that had stunted his growth. He was released from Chrome a scant few weeks later and by the end of that year had begun to grow normally. He started back in kindergarten which of course was super easy for him because he had already done that grade, and the rest of the grades up until high school for that matter. Anyway, the rest of the story you know, now he is one of the baddest heavyweights in the land, and sometime in early January he plans to beat Wethy from Columbus like a red headed step child.

Spideysorio

Spideysorio, its a good thing that he has that age advantage then, because he could'nt have beaten anyone his own age. We're glad he will be around even though he could've graduated last season like people his own age. Good ole Henry the 28 year old wonder.

Anonymous said...

LOL! Stop talking about poor ol' Henry like that! I think his self-esteem is low enough being stuck in class with kids 10 years younger than him! By the way, he pinned Wethy at Regionals, beat McRay also at Regionals, and recently majored the Viagr--I mean Vinegra.

I think it's great that Henry will start college at 20. Umm, I mean 29.

Paladin Coach said...

Yes, my pick for 285 lost yesterday. I was there and saw it for myself. Thanks for keeping me current on the status of my picks. How did the rest of them do?

Were these picks for now or for Regionals? If the picks are for now, I withdraw them and will resubmit the same list in February. What happens now matters very little.

It's not where you start that matters, it's where you finish.

Anonymous said...

How about spidey take a new poll and ask if it's cheating if you hold your kid back 2 years for an athletic advantage (like Henry C. Eric G)?

Osorio must have very thick skin not to come on here and defend his heavy so I will. Chirino came out for wrestling last year and never wrestled before. This year is is bigger and better that is what happens when you work all summer. Whatever his age is remember that he is eligible or he would not be able to wrestle (ei. Josh Williams South Dade). Like Noffo and some others all of you "ANONYMOUS'S" should stick to insulting coaches, teams, and even an AD or two but leave the kids alone. They go out there and try to compete in a tough sport and need not have condecending jerkoffs like yourself talking crap. Check your ISIS computer and you will see that he is just as old as most of the seniors in the county, the only problem with Chirino is that he is going to kick the crap out of you or your team and you hate it.

Anonymous said...

Oh forgot to mention that he will also be eligible to wrestle next year. Do you really think that was on purpose? Are you really that stupid. The poor kid never even knew about wrestling until he joined last year. HMMM... sucks to be you, knowing that he is only getting bigger and better every day. Some advice for you, if you hate it that much stop typing and go work out or work your heavy out and beat him. No? I didn't think so, you don't strike me as the type to work hard.

Anonymous said...

no complaints here. give credit to coach buhdasorio he does well with big boys.

How can you say Henry is a kid? He could join the military right now! Years ago he could buy alchohol! The fact is that a lot of heavies start off coming from football, and all henry does is juice up. UMM... I mean drink his juice and take his super vitamins. Yes he may beat people but he brags about being the ONLY sophomore to Place last year. GUESS WHAT? HE WAS 17 years old! People graduate at 17 or at least early in their 18th year NOT 19! Or 28 as spideysorio says. Henry had to cheat to win, he couldnt beat guys his own age last year, so i'll bet he's glad he was held back twice! He taunts people on how he's the best yet he's 2-3 years older than his competitors! It's not right, but Henry's mistake is his cockyness.

Anonymous said...

wow spiderman keep attacking columbus kids.

Spiderman said...

Anonymous,

I am not attacking the Columbus kids as mush as I am antagonizing the Columbus faithful.

I happen to be very fond of some of the Columbus kids. Rio and Gulesian in particular are great wrestlers, they have not been able to get over the hump, but they are getting close and I am paying attention.

The little Gulesian is a tough little mother as well, that is not lost on me.

I also like Wethy and Abadine, but what I can't stand is the air of unwarranted superiority that emanates from the Columbus faithful as if they have actually accomplished something.

Win something, beat someone that matters, and then talk; I will be the first to support you, after all you are a Dade team and first and foremost I am a Dade supporter.
