No real Shocker that American won these duals, that was expected, the real shockers here are the margins of victory. That American could very nearly overwhelm two of Dade Counties top 10 teams is impressive to say the least. I went to this Dual expecting much more but left frankly a little disappointed, though impressed with American. Miami High just came off a decent beating at the hands of Columbus the night before so they might not have been wrestling at 100% while SW chose to FF a number of matches to American for reasons undetermined. South West and Miami High both have very fine individuals in spots; that American could win 11 of 13 matches against MIA and allow SW but a forfeit victory is quite the tale. Oliver for SW sat in the stands the whole night, I'm not sure why he is out of the line-up but he was not in uniform, maybe somoene out there could shed a little insight as to Oliveras conspicuous lack of participation. Osorio continues to impress with his ability to not only build a team but to strengthen and threaten the powers that be. Congratulations to American.

Dade County has not had a decent team North of Flagler since Phillips ruled the north from Krop Senior with the exception of Hialeah for a year or two and now that power has shifted to American. I used to attend some Krop matches back then, I loved watching Phillips intensity at the bench as well as the non stop style of his wrestlers. I watch good wrestling when I can, and I thought last night was a good bet because 3 top ten teams were in the same building. It was a little anti climactic but that's OK, there can't always be fireworks, and every dual can't be SD VS Brandon.
Get off Osrios jock. Not only will SD shut them down. But so will Columbus. It's just to bad we can't do it first.

Osorio hasn't been around long enough to be Spiderman. Spiderman likes Osorio because he is the only one who can challange South Dade. The same way Spiderman liked Eric Phillips at Krop. Spiderman likes competition in this sport. If you read carefuly he is now on the South Dade Hate wagon because they just monopolized the sport. That is why he is just emphasizing second place and the matches that will determin that.

You are correct, I do so love the competition above all else.
I was first accused of being Pardo when I jumped on the South Miami Band wagon in 99' and 00' but what was not to like about South Miami,; Miret, Smith and Moore, the Estopiñan brothers, Shropshire. Plus I gained a lot of respect for Pardo because of the way he fights for his kids especially when they have been wronged by an official. I have huge respect for his knowledge of the rules and his ability to argue his point and even get a call or two reversed in the state finals.
I loved Eric Phillips and his team, I was all about Krop back in 01' 02' Ironically no one ever accused me of being Phillips, I think it's because of my Spanish and also because everyone believed him to be the Silver Surfer. What was not like about Thorne, Joseph and Harris? Phillips was as much fun to watch as any coach has ever been, his scowls tirades and other facial expression made him a treat. I love his intensity and I thought he was a fantastic coach who much like Osorio burst on the seen an immediately have positive results. I am still sorry to see him gone and I hold out hope he will some day return and improve Dade County wrestling.
So in 03' 04' Hialeah caught my eye. HIALEAH! You must be freaking kidding me HIALEAH! Yes Hialeah of all places, but Osorio got there and Made Hialeah a house hold name in wrestling. Like it or not the guy can coach, and has had some exceptional individuals. What is not to like about Celerio, Mederos, and Nates? Three studs that burst onto the scene in some cases to dethrone established opponents. I can’t think any other team that was the immediate surprise that Hialeah was, a true testament to Osorio and his ability to coach and get kids ready to compete at a high level.
As for SD; I am not hating on SD, but I also can not ignore that they have had questionable dealings of late. I still have much Love for Balmeceda, he is tops in my book, but I have to call it like I see it, and if I think he has overstepped his bounds I will say what I want to say. Historically SD wrestlers have been among my favorites, that does not mean I am exclusive to SD, I do root against them at times and I can't even say why, I guess it's the whole everyone loves an underdog thing combined I guess with a little personality stuff that one can never explain. Ironically, no one has ever accused me of being Balmeceda.
Anyway, keep the guesses coming, I am always intrigued by who people think I am or am not.
