Spartans Repel the Patriots

Southridge 43 - American 24

It was only a two match swing, and there were two matches where American looked to have the match only to fall to the famous coaches line...

"We got caught"

Never fear, I will have my Patriots Ready when it counts, I mean Ososrio will.

CoachKW's breakdown

Match Started out at 130
American by forfeit 0 - 6
135 Jerry Silva majorred Chris Perez 13 - 3. Silva put him to his back several times, this was a suprise. 4 - 6
140 Leo Santivanez AM pin Anthony Harris in the second period. 4 - 12
145 William Bell SR pinned Jeremy something. 10 - 12
152 Nicholas Clarke Am dec Terrance 7 - 3. 10 - 15
160 Dyvon Passmore SR PINNED George Garcia in OT. After 5 minutes the score was 1 - 1. George scored the takedown, Dvyon reversed and George got out. Score was 4 - 3 in my book, but apparently I missed a locking hands call, 4 - 4 we go to overtime. They locked up, George went for it and Dvyon stopped him and put him on his back. SR 16 - 15
171 Tommy Perez Am dec Lilly 5 - 1. Am 18 - 16
189 Javoris Plain SR pinned Danillo after putting on a takedown clinic (Bear Hug, Hip toss, Double to high lift, followed by a head and arm)
SR 22 - 18
215 Ervin Chunga SR dec Luis ?? don't know where Castillo was (well he was there but he didn't wrestle) 25 - 18
285 Justin McCray SR pin Henry Chirino in the second. McCray recoverred from falling straight to his back in the first to get the pin in the second. 31 - 18.
103 American with a forfeit 31 - 24
112 Anthony Dunn SR decisioned Armanni Harris 9 - 2. 34 - 24
119 ?? SR decisioned American. It was not Lubin, I didn't recognize either wrestler. 37 - 24
125 Joey Morales SR pinned American opponent (could be Anthony Johnson, Jamal Lattimore, or somebody else) 43 - 24.

Not to sure where some of the American big guns were at. Garcia getting pinned hurt. The match at 135 really suprised me. That is the best I've ever seen Silva wrestle (I'm talking about over 4 years here). Chris Perez never really pushed the action when he was losing. Tommy looked satisfied getting the win, when he should have been thinking bonus. If that was really Armanni Harris at 112, I don't know what happened with him, he did not look very good.

KW,

Great breakdown as always. You said that American had some people missing but from your breakdown it seems that they were all there except for their 215. Please don't insult the Spartans by saying that American was not there(big guns). From what you said I take it that Southridge came to fight and American did not. Great job Spartans. What happens now to the rankings. Will Southridge and Columbus ever meet this year? That would go a long way to determinig who is second best in this county before the big tourneys in the end.

Very good question. Will SR wrestle Col. When? Where? if they are.

Columbus and Southridge are not on the schedule. South Dade wrestles both teams after Christmas break.

SD will kill both teams, but SR will give them some good matches.

forget southridge, columbus destroys the competition at the mater academy tournament.

It seems to me that kw is always downing southridge, i thought that he was with braddock now? Seems that he's can't get southdade out of his system. Also no one gives southridge any credit, they did not have lubin in that match and their starting 130 pounder who was just in the finals of the last tournament. As far as columbus, what competetion have they seen entering all these jv tournaments.
