The Power Ring Rankings

1 South Dade, too much fire power for everyone in Dade County. Who else can loose 2 starters (returning State Qualifiers) and not notice a let down from the team.

2 American, I think their average kids are a notch above the other teams in consideration.

3 Columbus, looked real impressive in the win over Braddock. Every weight class is a name most of the coaches know. Seemed in better shape this weekend, then when I saw them against Miami High last week.

4 Southridge, for the first time in years Johnson hasn't been hit by the "moving" bug. If he can get the younger guys to believe he could jump up this poll.

5 Braddock, the past 10 days or so have been rough on the Bulldogs. After the great win over Southridge, this have not gone so well. This team has not had the same line up in back to back events all season. Injuries are pilling up. If they were to wrestle American and Columbus at the end of the season, I think the scores would be a lot different. Tejada needs to take get some of these kids to believe and learn how to finish.

At the end of the season and 4 of these teams could finish #2, they each have a couple of STUDS, it just depends on who gets more other kids to show up on that day.

Southwest: waiting for the injuries to clear up.

Coral Gables: things are looking up, but those kids need to wrestle with some confidence.

Palmetto: they impressed me in the South Dade dual meet, I just don't know if they have enough fire power to break the top 5.

HML: the wrestlers seem to be kind of erratic. Sometimes they look like world beaters and other times they look kind of average.

Sunset: had a good core group of JV kids today. Haven't had a chance to watch their Varsity too much. Chinchilla looked real impressive last weekend.

Now that we have had a chance to see some wrestling this is my opinion on the top 10 teams right now.
1. South Dade
2. Columbus
3. American
4. South Ridge
5. Miami High
6. Sunset
7. Hialeah Miami Lakes
8. Palmetto
9. Braddock
10. Homestead

Will this change as the season progresses yes and I hope it does, it is better for the sport. Some of these teams are improving everyday while others will not finish when it counts. I actually think that the 2 spot this year, just as in NCAA football, is up for grabs. All of these teams have the potential of ending there, including South Dade. Laugh if you want at that but, in sports just as in life anything can happen.

Anonymous,

I totally disagree with your rankings. I think Miami High should not be in the top 5 since they were defeated convincingly by Braddock. Palmetto killed HML. Here is my opinion:

1. South Dade
2. American
3. Columbus
4. Southridge
5. Braddock
6. Palmetto
7. Southwest
8. Miami High
9. Homestead
10. Sunset

This to me is a more realistic view of the top teams in Dade. Please understand that in a tournament there will be teams that may fall while others rise in the rankings. That would be determined by the stars of the team and bracket placement. GMAC will go a long way to determine if these teams will continue their upward climb (AME, PAL, COL) or continue their decline (BRA, HOM, HML, SR).

Did anybody take a look at South Miami's 215? what a beast, he hung in there with a very experienced wrestler from Columbus and nearly exploded the poor kid from South West. If there's one thing pardo nows how to do is coach the big boys. Watch out for this stud at the end of the season.

Moon Knight said...

Anonymous,

I have seen that specimen and was incredibly impressed with him. I think you are looking at the second best heavy in dade by the end of the season. That might be a big jump from what you saw this weekend but Pardo's expertise lies with the big boys and I can't see him passing up his only ticket to Lakeland. I think he will spend most of his time securing his ticket thru that giant. All other heavies better take note, South Miami is coming.

Spiderman,

With the quick rise of American I have failed to ask about Osorio's former team Hialeah. They have been lurking in the shadows and they still have some kids that can make some noise especially with Ponce as their coach. Where is Nates wrestling (weight class) and has he had any matches latetly. What about NMB, there was alot of talk about Severe and his new team. Now in his second year I think he has been able to establish a good core of athletes, so what is the news from there. We all know of the troubles of Southwest but more detailed information would be nice. What ever happened to Olivera and his misstep at the Durant tournament. Will we see him this year? I think it is high time for a mid season review.

Doctor Doom,

You may be a bit busy this year but we are all waiting for a good laugh and your new Dade Wars segment. I was hoping to be able to read it before the holliday's. How about making a kids wish come true.

I agree with anonymous' rankings. First, American is doing a great job, but Columbus is slightly ahead of them right now. Braddock beat Southridge early but, they are not the same team or maybe Southridge is not as good. Palmetto I do not think should be 6if anything 9 or 10. Braddock has not beat Miami High because I believe they have not wrestled and I don't think they can win at this point of the season. Miami high beat Southwest convincingly last week so I believe 5 is a good rank fo them. Sunset beat Homestead so they should not be ranked lower than them. HML should be in the top 10 thus far, where probably 7 or 8.

I have seen him also and was not unimpressed with his wrestling skills, however, I was very impressed with his athleticism and power. I agree that by seasons end he could be a hassle for anyone on the other stripe.

BTW, you said he was HWY, reports from this weekend have him at 215. If he makes 215, moving up to Heavy might prove a big disadvantage, do you know something we don't?

Moonie,

Last I heard from Hialeah, Ponce was having problems with the leftovers from Osorio’s regime. Word is Nates and the gang were not taking well to Ponce’s discipline and coaching style. I have not had many reports from the Hialeah camp this year, but that is the way it goes when you go from front runner to pooper scooper.

NMB is OK and that’s it, the best thing I can say about them is that thay have a full team. They are sort of underwhelming, and I did not spot anyone on that team that I would be watching for in the Region finals, maybe not even the Consolation finals. So far severe has done a great job with numbers, give him another year to see what he can do about getting so formidable individuals.

South West has been decimated by Injury, illness, and misfortune. Un despojito might be in order, if they ask nicely I will send them to the best Palero in town to take the hex off. Word from a source is that Olivera is serving a six week suspension, but South West has filed an appeal.

Moon Knight said...

Spiderman,

Thanks for the updates. It was about time some of these things were cleared. I hope it all works well for Olivera. Not one of my favorite wrestlers but a great kid none the less. How about the dade wars, do you have any influence on our resident Doctor?

Spiderman said...

Moonie,

I wish I did have that kind of power over the Doc, I would demand at least on Dade war episode per week. Be patient my friend I'm sure he is working on an episode as we speak, and with a little more encouragement we might even get to see it before the Christmas Holiday. It is however more likely that the episode will not be released until just after the New Year. Traditionally the Doc has graced us with the Dade Wars saga right around G.M.A.C. time.

I think there is something you should all know. Osorio is Spiderman. If you think this is a hoax or that I am full of crap, just ask him face to face and watch his response. He is a very smart man, what better way gather info on everything there is to know about Dade wrestling. Just play the role of everyone's neighborhood friend, be non bias, accept what everyone says, treat everyone with respect and act the opposite away from the computer. Pay attention to his actions and the way he talks, compare it to spiderman. Notice how everytime he is away on a tournament, spiderman is never communicating online. He is smart as I said before and this may be the greatest stunt he has pulled on all of us. Now, spiderman will fight this accusation, Osorio might even come on here and defend his position but they are both the same. Like I said before if you do not believe me, ask him in person and watch his reaction. Do not be alarm if others come on here and defend him, for example, KW or others with credibility, it is all part of the game. I too have a source, and I am telling you all the truth, it is only a matter of time. Don't be afraid to seek the truth.

long have we said we are one,
even the unknown become us.
heads turn and wonder to our fun,
their minds feeble begin to cuss.

who are we who talk and chat,
rumors traded in shadows hide.
truth settled on a mighty mat,
yet we come and enjoy the ride.

seek you the truth of who is he,
you nor me hide behind those keys.
wonder all who he might really be,
if you have the answer tell please.

we seek the truth as you say,
who is he the arachnid real face.
beer with him we share as we pay,
for the wings just name the place.

a big party for one and all,
now that we know the spider's name.
his house will now finally fall,
to you we honor and give the fame.

There is no way that Osorio is Spiderman, I have been spiderman for many many years and I did not give up my position to Osorio. I know Osrorio is not Spiderman because I am Spiderman

You give Osorio too much credit. I am the real Spiderman. Who else could mastermind this whole thing. I even invented the internet.

Osorio smart... I've eaten cabbage with a higher IQ.

Pardo is no smarter than your average bar of soap.

If passion were brains Balmeceda would have plenty, but as it is he is only marginally smarter than a mollusk.

No we all know who Spiderman really is no matter how much we may deny it.

He is none other than…

All of us collectively.

It is the only way one person can know so much and be in so many places at once.

You are Spiderman…

Yes that’s right you…

So now that we know who Spiderman is, what we need to know is who writes all the stuff down and post’s it for him.

Please, gimme a buzz on the private box.

Anonymous said...

It's only a matter of time before you all realize that Osorio is Spiderman. Notice how all this secret stuff is going on now in private boxes, how things have kind of stalled a bit. He will deny it and everyone will come on here and mess around, but you can't hide the truth. Do what I am telling you. Ask him in person.

If Osorio is Spiderman would you not want to know. Would it not affect whether or not you give him certain info. Would it not bother you to know you have been spilling all you secrets to him all this time.

Anonymous,

I am not Ron Osorio, but you may continue to think I am if it suits you. Of course if I were Osorio I would say I am not Ron Osorio, but you may continue to think I am if it suits you.

Typical Spiderman/Ron Osorio. Very nicely written.

Hot Fresh News.
American fell to the Southridge. It wasn't even close. The Ridge really wanted to show that Braddock got lucky and that they're the second best team in Dade. American looked horrible, are they starting to die out? I would have liked and expected to see Tom wrestle "Black", but Osorio probably did not want to see another super star go down. On the other hand, Southridge looked extremely prepared with plenty of tough atletics. Like I mentioned in one of my previous ratings, American isn't as good as they are taught to be. Again here are my top 5 teams in Dade.

1. SD
2. SR
3. Col
4. Am
5. Bra

Anonymous,

What happended, give us some details. Come on man this was the highlight match of the week for Dade county tell us more. Wow, Southridge must be totally back or American sent out their JV's.

Spiderman,

I am having some trouble signing in to the forum. Is there something I can do to remedy this situation? How about some info on the happenings last night. Did Southridge beat American by that much or was it a typo. You must have been there since you are Osorio, tell us all the details.

KW,

Were you there as well? How about some details. Use that beautiful mind of yours and tell us all what you saw. What happned. I guess this means that my new rankings must now come out changed.

Perhaps this explains the Spider's obsession and undying support for Osorio. He is merely admiring and boosting himself. SPIDEY WAS OUTED!!

I would be more active on the blog, but I still have not gotten our loss to South Ridge.

Oops did I just say that.
