Talk about it

This is a busy time of the year for me so I will only be in an out and I will only post once in a while. Unless there is some breaking news, there won't be many reports. You may use this post to converse with each other back and forth or just to make commentary in the interim.

If you saw the news 2 weeks ago,you may have seen an article where I travel the country correcting signs, billboards storefront signs, etc.I will return as soon as my mission is complete.Meanwhile, I expect a high degree of self policing from the most egregious Grammar Criminals (Moon Knight, all Anonymous,Osorio/Spidey)till I return.

Breaking news....Columbus says SD "building more championships one magnet program at a time!"

Breaking news 2: Geordan Speiller latest CG recruit, uh, transfer....

Anonymous said...

who is geordan speiller. what school is he from and where did he tranfer to.

Is it true that Earl Hall from Homestead and Eric Chandler from Braddock are looking to go to a different school from where they are at now?

Below is what I am hearing through the grapevines.

Hall- No partners to push him and no one in his team anywhere near his level and no one in his team with his drive.

E. Chandler- His team and his coaches hindered his progress this year in more ways than one. Rumorville has it that this kid has been going all over the place to find practice partners and competition to get better.

If this is true, what schools are they considering?

Yes Earl Hall will be going to South Miami and Gabe and Eric Chandler to Sunset. Confirmed by the wrestler's parents themselves.

Heard from a very close person to the program that Hall is going to Brandon next year.

Geordan Speiller is going to Columbus.

Yes Eric Chandler has been going around practicing with other teams.

Earl Hall going to South Miami??
Yeaa Righht

Eric and Gabe going to Sunset?
Maybe

Speiller was wrestling for Dr Funk, according to trackwrestling.

Speiller going to CG according to father. Good luck, he'll probably get thrown out of there like he did at Florida Air last year.

Brandon people talking Hall to Tampa.

Pena and his dad should be careful about what they say and around who at tournaments. Could come back to haunt the Godfather!

I hear Rio is going to killian in order to get a bettr edumacation and to be on a team with more better wraslers

I know it is waaaay early, but does anyone have any projected line ups for any of the top teams in Dade County? Any insiders out there. Lets hear it.

Venom said...

1. South Dade
2. Columbus
3. American
4. ?
5. ?

Iron Man said...

Venom, I don't understand how Columbus would be #2. I hope you know American only lost 3 seniors. 4 qualifiers and 2 placers will be returning next year.

South Dade will stay #1. But just like nobody really got close to South Dade at #1, I predict Columbus won't get close to American where they will be #2.

I am not a Columbus fan, but they also do have alot of returners and from what I am hearing some tranfers.
Yes I know American is gonna be good, but I think Columbus will be better

American returns
103 Armanni Harris 37 - 6 3rd at State
112 Leo Miller 26 - 11
119 Julian Ore 19 - 9
125 Christian Perez 31 - 10 1 match from States
135 Leo Santibanez 34 - 9 State Qualifier
152 Jeremy Troncoso 11 - 12
189 Brandon Troncoso 4 - 3 made it to Region Semifinals
215 David Castillo GMAC Runner Up 35 - 2, injured in Region placing match
285 Henry Chirino 38 - 8 4th at State

4 State Qualifiers, 2 State Placer, plus Castillo probably would have placed.

Graduated
145 Nicholas Clarke 5th at State, 160 George Garcia 3rd at State and 171 Tommy Perez State Runner Up

Columbus
103 Matt Noffo 5th at State 20 - 8
103 Mark Gulesian 45 - 8
112 Kevin Gurevich 23 - 13
119 Louis Nodar State Qualifier 43 - 10
125 Jake Rio 3rd at State 3x State Qualifier 51 - 5
130 George Gulesian 4th at State 2x State Qualifier 49 - 8
135 Nick Martin-Hildago 32 - 15
140 Charles Howard 14 - 12
189 Mike Abadin 32 - 6 State Qualifier
285 Alex Weathy 38 - 12 State Qualifier

6 State Qualifiers 3 State Placers when you count Noffo. Not sure about any one else being added to the team.

Graduated
152 Joey Cruz 160 Daniel Moreno-Koenig 171 Andrew Davis 215 Jorge Rabaza
Transferred
145 Allen Pena

Armani Harris defeated Noffo twice GMAC and Regions
Gurevich defeated Miller at Regions
David Castillo defeated Mike Abadin at Wildcat tourny
Herny Chirino defeated Weathy at Regions

When you factor in how fast Osorio has been able to produce talent in his last 2 stops it is not far fetched to consider American as the #2 team heading into the new year.

Columbus is kind of loaded with extras in the light weights. Even have some that might not crack the line up.

Rio and Gulesian should be heavy favorites over anyone from American. I could see Chris Perez possibly defeated Nodar. Castillo and Chirino should be favorites over Abadin and Weathy. If Noffo and Harris stay the same weight I would have to give the edge to Harris (right now). It would all come down how the rest of the line ups shake down. There could be some classic battles next year at GMAC and Regions.

Allen Pena will probably be back

What an exciting season it will be!

I think Dade did the best out of all the regions in the State tournament. So as far as Dade only having 1 good team, facts show otherwise.

KW,
I think Harris won't make 103 either will Noffo.
Wethy pinned Chrino at Western.
Castillo beating Abadin I dont know about that.
Kinda looking forward to seeing Willie and Abadin.

Iron Man said...

Harris and Noffo can't make 103 this year. Harris might even bump up to 119. I know Noffo will be at 112 this year.

I believe Castillo would beat Abadin again, but I don't think he could handle going upper body with Wiggins.

Wethy pinned Chirino at Western, but then got pinned by Chirino at Regionals in the first period so it wasn't the same Chirino.

Interesting match-ups, however. I'm excited to see them.

CoachKW said...

I meant if Harris and Noffo go the same weight this year (112 or 119, not going 103 again). I know that neither one of them would see 103 every again.

I had the same feeling about Chirino and Weathy as Ironman. Weathy has been wrestling for at least 3 years now and Chirino started wrestling last year. His progress was evident by what happened at GMAC, Regionals and States. Add in the fact that Chirino has been wrestling in some of the toughest dual meet tournaments in the Country (Scholastic Duals in PA and just recently the Jersey Duals). Plus, Osorio has become the newest great HWT coach in Dade County. Oscar Gonzalez 2nd in State, Omar Perez State Champion and now Henry Chirino 2nd best hwt in Dade County last year.

I think it is too tough to call between American and Columbus until we see where the match ups are.

I agree Chrinio is #1 on my heavyweight list in the state right now.
He needs to watch out for Steven Jacuez from South Broward he benches 425!
