Well it was no surprise that most (43%) believe that SD’s 07’ team is certainly a squad that could have won a State Dual title to go along with their individual team title. After defeating Brandon, ending the “Streak”, and winning the Graves (the toughest Dual tourney in the state by far) how could anyone doubt that SD would have also won a Dual Title.
Second on the list is Palmetto (with 27%), and rightfully so, their 96’ squad was a powerhouse almost top to bottom with very few holes if any, they proved it with a state title and I believe if they would have been offered the opportunity, they could have ended the Streak 11 years before SD did it, and would also have won the State Dual event.
The third and fourth selections are a little more suspect; South Dade back again with the 99’ team (21%) that also won a team title but was not strong up and down the line-up as was the 07’ team. The 00’ South Ridge team was also very strong, but did have some glaring holes and a team title would not have been easily earned. Would either of them have had a shot? Absolutely, but it is not the foregone conclusion that it was with the 07’ SD team. 99’ and 00’were also two years where Brandon had much vulnerability in their line-up, but again to say definitively that either SD or SR would have knocked them off in those years is a stretch.

American beating SD is Osorio's pipe dream.
Assuming that SD's projected line-up remains in tact here is the best case scenario.
In a dual American can keep it close and lose by 12 to 15 points, but SD can also break it open and beat them by 24. In tourney style SD is 40 to 70 points better than American and that is at the state tournament, in the GMAC and Region they will be 70 to 90 points better than American.
No offense but it's another bridesmaid year for Osorio and any other coach with aspirations.
My numbers are based on precise mathematical calculations, if you don't believe in my accuracy just go back to my predictions from last season and see for yourself, it's all there in the archives.
If Dade High Schools Wrestling had a handicapper in Vegas, it would be me setting the lines; my track record speaks for itself.

If American took their best 5 wrestlers and cloned them into duplicates one weight class above or below where the will sit this season, they would still Lose to SD in the state tournament by 30 points.

SD will win these Hall, Metellus, Sanders, Montalvo, Wiggins. That is five sure wins. Lets give them 2 more, each team wins 7. All depends on pins. American has a shot and they will take it and win.

your talking out of your crack. american is good, probably the second best team in the county along with columbus but they are not in southdade's league. they will kill american and destroy everyone at the tournaments.
The devious and powerful Jedi Not-So-Sorrio is a crafty one. Strong is he within the FORCE. Hard his soldiers will battle for him and the respect they deserve. Surely he will devise a plan and tactical battle. Moving soldiers around and cutting them down to unexpected weight classes.

You're right, it will be alot closer than the experts predict.
It's all about match ups and who will be where. American will have to place their wrestlers in just the right spots to have a shot.
No one is going to beat South Dade's; Hall, Mettelus, Sanders, Montalvo, Wiggins and Eddie. That gives them 6 for sures wins and possible 30 points with McPherson, Villanueva, Webster, King, and Moore waiting in the wings.
American isn't going to surprise anyone when they drop Castillo to 189 but I guess they think it will be a better match up.
Harris, Chirino, Perez, Santibaez, Orz and Castillo will be hard to beat but Perez or Santibaez will have to face Mettelus, Harris and Orz will have to face Villanueva or McPherson and Castillo will have to face Wiggins or Webster.
If those match ups happen that leaves Montero, Rojas, King, and Anguiano to do some mop up duty on American's left overs.
At the risk of sounding redundant, South Dade wins by 12 to 15 in a Dual, and by as many as 24 if will stil all goes perfectly or if Osorio makes the wrong move with his line-up.

You must be a South Miami wrestler to make such a bold statement.
South Miami was once a force of elite individuals, but as of late they have left much to be desired.
I remember the days or Smith and Moore, Miret and the Estopiñan brothers, but I don't see that type of talent on South Miami's team right now.
They do have one kid in the upper weights, Davidson I believe is his name, and he can do some damage as South Miami always seems to excel in the upper weights.
However, as for the rest of your predictions you will need to make a believer out of me, I would like nothing better than to see Pardo resurrect his team, but I want to see it before I will believe it

There is no way that American can beat South Dade. With all the kids that they recuited, American won't get close. It would have been an interesting match if SD didn't form a second line-up of All-Stars from other teams from Dade. Prediction SD 42 Am.15
